Enabling opportunities for participants to take supported risks is one of the key elements of forest school – but how do we safely manage those risks?   This online session will guide those new (and not so new) to forest school through the process of risk assessment including

  • What is a risk assessment and why do we need them?
  • The 5 stages of risk management
  • Identifying and evaluating different types of risk
  • Keeping records and reviewing practice to make risk assessments work for you

This event will take place on Microsoft Teams so you’ll need a computer or mobile device linked to the internet,  (you don’t need to have a Teams account).  The Teams link will be sent out with booking confirmation.

This is one of a series of sessions from Get Out More CIC to help people get started with forest school. The sessions are targeted at Bradford schools in the Forest Pathways programme, but the invitation is extended to members of Bradford Forest School Network and anyone with an interest in the subject.  

The sessions are free for schools in the Forest Pathways programme or Full members of Bradford Forest School Network.

This event has been organised by Get Out More CIC as part of its Forest Pathways programme for schools in Bradford, a government-funded programme to help more children and young people benefit from access to nature. The project is being delivered as part of the Children and Nature Programme supported by the Department for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs and managed by Natural England.
