Den and Shelter Building

Bear and Lapor run a programme of outdoor learning courses for teaching staff, outdoor leaders and forest school practitioners

This Den and Shelter Building one day course (24 April 2018) will enable delegates to experience a range of skills and techniques for building dens and shelters. By the end of the course they will have:
 Collected, sorted and used natural materials to build different types of dens & shelters.
 Used a variety of man-made materials – tarps, covers, tents, curtains, etc. to create different dens and shelters.
 Used simple knots to help them create the above dens & shelters.
 Discussed how these ideas may be applied in their role.
In addition, we will explore links to the National Curriculum, topics and books / stories.
